The Early Childhood (EC3-K) Library, the Libru, opened in February, 2011. The Libru has over 5000 age-appropriate books in the collection. The space has been designed with the young reader in mind; small furniture, comfy spots to sit and read, natural light and plants, There is a carpet area for read alouds and a large reading area for students to read to self and with a partner.
Children ages 3-6 are encouraged to check-out books independently and on a flexible time table. Students develop their confidence and ability to choose books to their liking by visiting the Libru regularly. The Libru also hosts different celebrations aimed at promoting a life long love for reading.
