Zotero: What's Zotero?

is a tool that helps you build a personal library of source information from articles, books, documents, web pages, and more.  This personal library of sources works with Google Docs to format your essay and citations in MLA or APA style.

Zotero allows you to:

  • Save citations from databases, web sites, library catalogs
  • Manage, categorize into collections, and collaborate
  • Cite sources "in-text" as you write and create reference lists in APA or MLA styles
  • Attach PDF's, images, web page snapshots, reading notes to citations in your collection

Zotero is an application that has an extension for Chrome. The extension automatically detects content in your web browser, allowing you to add to your personal library with a single click.

Thank you to Amanda Watson at the New York University library for allowing me to adapt her guide for high school use.
